Lovely easy 4km walk to Mason Falls from lower Mason's Falls carpark. Easy access to short circuit walks. Beautiful fungi species, mosses, tiny wildflowers. Recommended on a weekday to avoid crowds. Long walks πΆββοΈ easily accessible from car parks.
The only negative was the toilet amenities, to say the least, were unusable.
Charming place,
Easy walk to the falls,
We went during the working days, hence there were not too many people to explore.
There are plenty of carpark spots,
BBQ facility was available. You need to take your rubbish with you.
Highly recommend visiting π.
Kinglake National Park is an absolute gem! I was blown away by the tranquillity of this place. The viewpoints is a nature lover's paradise. The hiking trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of difficulty levels, so there's something for everyone.

Fantastic hiking spot close to Northern suburbs of Melbourne. You will be pleasantly surprised by the amount of biodiversity along the Mt Sugarloaf to Mason Falls circuit as you descend and then ascend the valley again, experiencing varied micro climates along the way.
Mason Falls was a lovely scenic spot to visit. The picnic area was family friendly. The walking paths were well marked and kept.
One of the closer national parks to central Melbourne. It's a popular spot for families and on the weekends. Masons Falls picnic area has large group picnic facilities and walks that you can do from the car park. Masons Falls is just a short walk from the picnic area to the viewing platform. I saw the most amount of echidnas there that I've ever seen in the wild one spring, go there around 3.30-4pm as they'll all start to emerge looking for bugs. Saw lots on the short walk next to the creek just below the carpark. Plenty of evidence of wombats but went at the wrong time to see those!
Great place for some hiking, listening to wildlife, especially the birds, running water from creek and some great views and waterfall.
A beautiful green environment with a waterfall, lots of trees, and birds. Several picnic spots for enjoyment and also there was several pathways to see the waterfall. There's also a long walking track, like a small hike. Due to summer may be, the waterfall had less water, and the surroundings were a bit dry. Still, it was a nice experience overall.
